Don’t forget to spring clean your car. Just as you will no doubt spend at least one weekend spring cleaning your home, you should also set aside some time to spring clean your automobile.

Stop and think about what has occurred in your car the last several months. There was that time you spilled McDonald's french fries between the center console and the driver’s seat. You tried to clean them up, but your reach was inadequate so you just left them.

You took Fido for a trip to the park and he wound up with muddy paws and you wound up with mud-streaked back seats that you swore you would clean sooner than later. Well, it’s later, much later.

And then there was that incident when you had to make a sudden stop, but your coffee didn’t and it wound up on the passenger-side floor. What a mess.

Get Organized

Clean out all of the compartments in the interior of your car. Throw away the expired registrations and insurance cards stuffed in the glove box. Vacuum out the crumbs from the half-eaten granola bar you left in the center console storage last fall and scrape off the gum in your drink holder. We know that wasn’t you that left it there, but it needs to be removed anyway.
 

The Trunk

You have wondered for months whatever happened to that jar of mayonnaise you bought at the store. It will be discovered when you clean out your trunk.

You see, you cram all sorts of stuff in your truck over time and it is pretty full. You have clothes in there that you keep meaning to drop off at Goodwill, bags of sand to weigh you down in case it snows and an assortment of hats and gloves in case you break down and it’s cold outside.

When you start sorting through all of this, you will find that jar of mayonnaise that fell out of the grocery bag and rolled into the far corner of your truck. But we recommend you don't use it.
 

The Console

You will want to wash your console with great care and avoid getting any electrical connections wet. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the top of your dashboard.
 

Carpeting and Upholstery

You will want to start off by removing the larger items that are on the floor of your car, like shoes, sunglasses and anything else that has made its way down.

Now take a vacuum to it, making sure to suck up all of the dirt and debris that has been dragged into your car.

Lastly, rent a carpet cleaning machine with an extension for upholstery and get your carpets and upholstery nice and clean.

Once your car is good and clean, take it to Groovy Automotive to have a mechanic give it a good look to see if anything is amiss.
